Year 11 GCSE Drama pupils were assessed this week for their devised performances. They had to create, write and design pieces in response to a stimulus and it was impressive how intelligent and thought-provoking the performances were.
The group entitled Silenced showed how peoples’ opinions and beliefs can be both shaped and hindered by society, religion and male dominance, while Apart and All Together showed glimpses into lives that were repressed in some way, either by mental illness, politics, war or coercive control, showing how hope can be rather elusive at times but that it can also surprise us.
