Mount Kelly swimmers competed at the Swim Wales Winter Championships during the Christmas Holidays. Emily, Sophie, Katie, Isis and Amelia achieved three Golds and four Silvers; a great result for the girls who swam best times across the board. Congratulations to Sophie who has been selected onto the Swim Wales National Elite Transition Squad, and to Emily who will join the Youth Performance Squad.
On the same weekend, Mount Kelly had five swimmers participating in Ireland. Nevaeh, Esme, Shannon, Brydan and Nemone all swam brilliantly, making the finals in each of their events. Brydan won an Open Age Bronze medal in the 200 Backstroke, breaking the 14 Years Mount Kelly Swimming Record.
On Boxing Day, our Vice Captain, Hazal, was in action in Turkey at their Short Course National Championships. Hazal stormed to victory in the 100m Breaststroke, with a new Open Mount Kelly record, and went on to win Silver in the 200 IM as well.
