Eight teams took to the moors at the weekend for Duke of Edinburgh and Ten Tors training.
Everyone worked well in their teams, showing great grit and determination in completing their routes over some very tough and sodden terrain. Although the weather was fine, freezing temperatures overnight and a dusting of sleety snow on Sunday morning added to the challenge. For a number of pupils this was their first camp out, and to complete it in early March – finishing the first day in the dark and carrying their full kit – was a significant achievement.
Well done to everyone involved. Next up is the Mount Kelly expedition, which involves walking the full distance walk for those on Ten Tors, and the DofE practice walk from 25-27 March.
