Mount Kelly Prep has been awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in a national award scheme celebrating excellence in environmental education.
Our ’Growing Greener Day by Day’ entry, which told the story of Mount Kelly Prep’s Eco Committee activities, received high praise from the Primary Awards for Green Education in Schools which involved over 35,000 young people across 270 entries, throughout the UK.
The judges said, “The young people’s passion and commitment really shone through and you all should be very proud.
“We were blown away by all of the fantastic ideas your Eco Committee has inspired… the children have accomplished so much. It is great that the staff have been so supportive and enabling of all of the actions that have taken place too. We are extremely impressed and would like to congratulate everyone who was involved!”
The Mount Kelly Prep Eco Committee has won £100 and a free place on Better Planet Schools, an online platform for environmental education.
