Mount Kelly Expedition

Posted: 26th March 2025

Our Ten Tors teams completed the Mount Kelly Expedition last weekend, successfully avoiding the rain on Friday afternoon on the north moor before camping overnight. Saturday was their longest walk so far, with the 45-mile team setting a great pace and the 35-mile team coping well in misty conditions on the southern part of the route.

There was some great navigation from all groups on Sunday morning – in challenging visibility – to successfully complete the expedition before midday. An excellent effort from all, exemplifying the Mount Kelly spirit.

Five Duke of Edinburgh Silver and Gold teams also headed out onto the moors last weekend to complete their practice walk and qualify to move on to their assessment in June.

Mixed weather conditions made for some interesting navigation, but all teams worked well together and completed their walks in good time, showing strong teamwork and good camp skills throughout.
