Mount Kelly Swim School 2024

Summer Swim School Sunday 25 to Friday 30 August 2024
Residential: Ages 10 to 16 £515

Swimmers must be Swim England Category 2 Registered
Swimmers must be able to swim 400m comfortably

Our coaching team will guide swimmers through skills, drills and practices that have helped to produce 83 International swimmers and medallists at Commonwealth and Olympic Games. All aspects of training are included and groups will be arranged according to age, experience and ability. Colour teams form the basis of the competitive challenges throughout the week culminating in a swimming gala on the final day, to which parents are invited.

Swim School has been running since 1980 and we continue to focus on technique development for all our course members. Swimming skills will be the highest priority as well as ensuring an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

During the week children will take part in activities away from the pool including high-ropes
and archery sessions at our outdoor activity centre; evening social activities (BBQ, disco, film night and a talent competition) and a shopping trip to Tavistock.

Course Content

Stroke development workshops in and out of the pool on all four strokes
Coaching improvement of starts, turns and finishes
Digital video analysis under and above water
Goal setting – how to get the best out of training and racing
Comprehensive land training including:
Circuit Training
Strength and Conditioning
Pre and Post Pool routines
Sports Psychology
Sports Nutrition
Games and Challenges and much more

Simply Outdoors

Your child has the option to take part in high ropes and/or archery at the on-site outdoor adventure centre, Simply Outdoors. High ropes and archery are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.

Declaration

Mount Kelly or Simply Outdoors will not share any information or data collected with any third parties. In my opinion, my child is fit and able to take part in the Swim School activities. I give my consent to using over the counter products if required such as paracetamol, Strepsils, antihistamine or cough linctus, administered by Matrons or First Aiders. I understand in an emergency every effort will be made to obtain consent for treatment, operation or anaesthetic, but if this proves impossible, I authorise the Head Coach, Swim School Matron or Simply Outdoors staff to act in loco-parentis. A copy of the Mount Kelly and Simply Outdoors current Certificate of Public Liability Insurance can be provided upon request. Either company cannot accept liability arising from circumstances undisclosed in this Consent Form.
